WASHINGTON — The US plans to ship Ukraine extra air protection interceptors and munitions as a part of a $2.6 billion assist package deal, a part of which shall be used to assist Kyiv put together for a deliberate spring offensive towards Russian troops.

The package deal introduced on Tuesday contains $500 million in ammunition and gear from U.S. army stockpiles, and $2.1 billion that the US will use to purchase munitions, radar and different weapons to ship to Ukraine sooner or later.
