Chris Christie, former New Jersey governor and 2024 Republican presidential candidate, responded to Donald Trump’s recent insults during an appearance on The Balance.

Trump had called Christie “deranged” and a “crazed lunatic” earlier. When asked for his response, Christie questioned Trump’s statements and listed various important roles he had previously offered him.

He highlighted that Trump had offered him positions like White House chief of staff, chairman of his transition, chairman of his opioid commission, and even roles as secretary of Homeland Security and secretary of Labor. Christie disagreed with Trump’s actions during the 2020 election and his behavior afterward, believing it was bad for the country and the office he held.

Christie concluded by expressing concern for Trump’s mental health, suggesting that his recent statements resulted from stress and pressure.
