Megyn Kelly, the popular Sirius XM host, announced her upcoming interview with former President Donald Trump, marking their first meeting since their memorable clash in the 2016 presidential debates.
Scheduled for Sept. 14 on “The Megyn Kelly Show,” this will be their first sit-down in seven years.
Kelly has previously interviewed prominent figures like Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, and Democratic candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
She expressed her anticipation, saying, “I’ll be interviewing former President Donald Trump next week. It’s my first interview with him in seven years, and there’s much to discuss. I’m looking forward to it.”
Kelly expects a lively and challenging conversation, promising a variety of topics to cover.
The backdrop to this interview is their previously contentious relationship, notably stemming from a 2015 presidential debate where Kelly questioned Trump about his remarks about women.
In the debate, she asked, “You’ve called women you don’t like ‘fat pigs,’ ‘dogs,’ ‘slobs,’ and ‘disgusting animals,'” to which Trump responded, “Only Rosie O’Donnell.”
Their exchange led to tension, and in January 2016, Trump criticized Kelly and alleged bias at Fox News.
